Our web page includes links to the State Bar of California (http://www.calbar.ca.gov/state/calbar/calbar_home.jsp) and Los Angeles County Bar Association (http://www.lacba.org) for anyone who would like to seek help against his lawyer.

We also had a link to the Philippine American Bar Association (PABA) (http://www.pabala.org). We thought that PABA wanted to serve the community. We were wrong.

PABA President Attorney Melvin Avanzado has now threatened Fil-Am-Attorney-Watch.com with a lawsuit that somehow this link falsely implies an association between our organizations.

Isn't this the problem with lawyers? Ready to sue over a link on a web page.

Fil-Am-Attorney-Watch.com thought there was a unity of purpose with PABA. We were silly to believe an association of spirit with a lawyers organization. They just want to protect other lawyers. PABA is willing to threaten a lawsuit to protect its name - its trademark.

PABA trademark is worthless. They just want to protect lawyers, even unethical lawyers. PABA does not care about the consuming public.

We have removed any reference to PABA, because it misleads the public that PABA stands for protecting the public from unscrupulous lawyers.
